How I Met Carter Bays

The premier of my first story for Cleveland Magazine is finally available online. The article, about the life of Carter Bays, creator/producer/and head writer of the CBS sitcom "How I Met Your Mother" can be viewed here.

The article starts with a scene of Carter Bays at his sister Abby's wedding in North Carolina. What is not mentioned in the article, however, is what happened the night before. At the rehearsal dinner, which took place at a country club in the Outer Banks, Carter stood in the front of the room, attempting to get everyone's attention. Then he began addressing his soon-to-be brother in law. "Brendan," he said. "Presumably, one day, you and Abby are going to have children. And when you do, they're going to naturally want to know how you met their mother."

At this point, Carter paused, then rolled out a television set. He leaned down popped in a DVD, and behold! -there was the entire cast of How I Met Your Mother -- recreating Abby and Brendan's first date. You can watch the world premier of the endearing story here.

It's weird - he sort of looks like Ted!
Love the story.

Hmm... I kind of remember a Becky Meiser insisting that she would never use the title "How I Met Carter Bays" for anything. And yet look at this blog post title :)

In any event, it was a great article that was both amusing and informative! Kind of makes me regret I gave up my copy of Cleveland Magazine... oops.
